I'd like to go squirrel hunting Saturday. The closest WMA to my house is Haley-Jaqueth. Anyone gone out there for small game? Any other recommendations on WMAs in Middle Tennessee?

Yanahli is covered up in squirrels. I know a few places I see a ton of them while deer and turkey hunting. Greys and fox squirrels too. Anywhere in the hardwoods seems to be good on yanahli.

ain't that the truth.
A lot of guys who don't squirrel hunt, think that all squirrel hunting must be easy because of all the activity they see in November while deer hunting. Squirrel hunting in Jan and Feb is nothing like November. In November, the Squirrels are busy, ravenously collecting and storing food for the winter months. Come this time of year, they rely on their caches and even hibernate some. Some days, for not explainable reason, they just don't move at all. You can go to those spots where you saw furious squirrel activity in Nov and you'll see nothing now.

Yup. Happened to me today. Biggest fox squirrel I've ever seen set up over my ground blind in December. Barked for 20 minutes straight. Today I stalked for three hours and saw nothing.

Every time I see a squirrel, I just want to eat it
