On a subject such as this, especially coming from someone such as Bowriter, being put forth to the public, I think it should come across a little clearer than mud.

JMO though.

Okay-My Take on Gun Control.

On a regular basis, someone will ask me what I think about gun control. Most are amazed at my answer. You see, I do not care.

You can ban the sale of various types of firearms. You can ban the sale of large capacity magazines.

I do not care if they ban “assault” weapons.

I own no illegal firearms or large capacity magazines. I have never had a need for them. I do not enjoy shooting tin cans or paper targets and they are not my choice for hunting. I have all I need for hunting and home defense.

I have had the Commercial Appeal pull sentences out of my articles before, and they will do it with this one. It will be impossible to defend a stance that "hunter" is all for banning assault weapons and and semiautomatic firearm, doing just as the Liberals are destroying the republican party by pitting them against each other, they will fall upon this like it is manna from Heaven. They have people paid to read our sites every day.

I'll not go into the whole thing but perhaps this excerpt from another column will make it more clear. If not, then you will just have to think whatever you want.

...As I have said before, I am not concerned about banning assault weapons because the whole thing is not about guns. It is about control, it is about taking away of rights. Guns just happens to be the vehicle it is tied to...

That is an axcerpt from an article I did on the ESOS boycott.

You dont have to read between the lines.Just read the lines.

He says it more than once.

He doesnt care if they ban "assault" weapons.

Meaning he doent care about our 2nd amandment.

As long as his guns are not envolved, he doesnt care.

Looks like YOU were reading between the lines on the othet thread and now you accuse others of doing what you did.

Go back a couple day ago to the thread about the sports show getting canceled. John told it like it was, how all those people lost a ton of money from pulling out. Ever ARCHERY guys pulled out supporting the AR's. John hit it 100% right then but here he's off track.

The trouble I and other seem to have with John's article is he DID say he doesn't care about the AR ban. He should have worded it better. How many times have I warned about the "wording" in bills before Congress?? It's all in the wording. John being a writer knows that.

John got it right about one thing and I fully agree, it's about control. Last year handguns of all kinds killed more people than the AR's did, far more. All of our guns are next and you all full well know it.

I do not hunt with a bow, but when the powers that be line up to remove the ability of others to do so, I will not be found guilty of saying because I do not own one, never saw the use in having one, I have high powered sniper rifles that I can load 4 rounds in which will do a much better job of taking game humanely etc. so just go ahead and ban them, I do not care.

Instead, I will stand with my brothers who want to own them because it is their RIGHT to do so.

I think you guys are misinterpreting his words . In my interpretation he is saying he doesn't care if it's an assault weapons only ban , because the ban is about control . And they will not stop with that . I agree if you take some words out you can manipulate it to say what you want .

You made my point. You "worded" it better.
