when I first got addicted to internet hunting sites, and was unaware of what was out there I found and joined a site called Deerhuntingchat.com. just out of curiosity I went on there tonight. the place is a ghost town, but they actually had forums for each individual state, for example a forum named "Tennessee deer Hunting".

I went in and there was a role call thread that was started in 2005 by a guy I know named Doc Holladay and sure enough some familiar screen names on in that thread. Pretty funny to see them and realize they are on this site. In fact someone over there told me about TNdeer.

how did ya'll come to find and join the site?

A guy at work showed me a deer he killed.
It was in the tndeer trophy room.

I bought a new house in 1999 and bought a computer and got online.
It was the first site I went to.

As they say, the rest is history. \:D

I probably read TN Deer 4 or 5 years before I became a member. I believe I was a member a few yrs before my date now but I posted a couple times because my life was too busy back then. Didn't remember my name or password so I finally had time and become a full member.

Since then I have pissed several UT fans off and met a few that know I'm only having fun. I have learned a lot and met some great people..... \:\)

Can we change my date to 2002.... \:D

I was looking for information about deer hunting and had some questions. I didn't get flamed (not even for my generic user name) so I stayed around. My wife half jokingly calls TNDEER my church.

I moved to TN, and had no clue how to hunt huge tracts of pine-laden Bowater. So I did some internet searches on hunting deer in TN. Found TNDeer, which was also my first experience with a discussion forum.

10 years later, I have no clue how to hunt huge tracts of pine-laden TN forest.

Googling stuff about Tennessee deer hunting when it popped up. Just looked for a year or more, then joined under the name bowbender in '06. Was busy building a new house in '09 and was off for quite awhile. When I came back I couldn't remember my password and somebody took a username real close to mine, so I rejoined with a new name.

Was driving on the road on the back side of my lease one morning and came upon two hunters and stopped, since their lease was almost adjoining the property I hunted. We swapped a few stories, I shared with them a few trail cam photos i had on me and Jakeaway told me about the site. I knew nothing about a "forum" and so I only visited the trophy room portion. It took me a year or so until I decided to take the plunge. I have met a number of members and made a lot of friends because from this site. There are some truly wonderful folks on here.

Google search for info about TN deer hunting. Moved here in 09 from SC and still haven't hunted. I get my fix from reading all of the hunting members post and watchng catman videos! One day soon I guess I may go hunting. I miss it but being in East TN where the size is not what I expected doesn't make me want to hunt or die.

There's too much crazy stuff going on in the off season to leave. Met a few members and all of them have been 1st class guys. I'm terrible with names so don't ask me who! LOL

I got into deer hunting and found this site probably via a google search while researching hunting on the internet.... first post was asking about Yanahli WMA. a year later I killed my first deer ever on the same WMA. Then the following year I killed 10 deer in a season. Tndeer has been very helpful and there are also some very good people on here. I have made some friends on here where I otherwise would not have known many hunters at all, because I got into hunting myself and most of my friends don't hunt. Also my first bow buck would have likely been a loss if not for a member here who knew more about tracking deer than I did. And people have worked on my bow for me and helped me with advice in person and on the forum. Too much good to say about the site, it outweighs any jerk causing trouble on here which happens occasionally but the mods do a great job keeping it a friendly site.

just a little ad in the knoxville news sentinel classifieds that said "deer hunters wanted. tndeer.com". having just lost access to all the bowater land, i was hoping it was somewhere new to hunt.it turned out to be much more. my actual date that i signed in is a bit earlier than displayed. whole lot different back then.

I found TNdeer near the end of 1999. I joined the forum for the first time in Jan/feb of 2000. I lost my screen name and PW and joined again in 2001 and used the same name I had from a TN fishing forum.

Then I switched jobs and lost access to my e-mail and had to rejoin again in 2002. I used the same name with a "2" on the end. We had a slight window about 6 years ago to choose our display name. I dropped the "2" on the display name but it is still my actual TNDeer log on user name.

I've gotten better at remembering who I am and have not had to re-up in 10 years \:D

Opening weekend of bow season in 2007 I met a local down next to the lake on Cross Creek refuge . We were telling stories and talking about how many people were camping at LBL . He told me that a lot of them were tndeer guys ... And I said what's that ? And the rest is history . I wish I could remember who the guy was I talked to , I have wondered about that since the day I officially joined .

I heard about a deer that Rad (doublelung) had killed, so I contacted Taylor (my neighbor) and he referred me to the website. I had to ask what website he was talking about because I had not heard of it.

Once I did find it and joined it, I was in CLHC at the time so I passed along the info to Chaneylake and he passed it along to Johnnybond and so forth....or, that's how I recollect it...lol.

Been a good ride, some days better than others, but met some nice people but as with anywhere else, I met some not so nice people (imo) as well......so is life.

Overall though, it's been a good experience...

I was about to move to Tennessee and was trying to get an idea of how the hunting was up here. I never hunted big hardwoods befor and had some questions. The guys on here were kind enough to answer them.

I was preparing for a move to Tennessee and googled "Deer hunting in Tennessee" and this site popped up.

I registered, asked some questions, even found that I could get DNR(or whatever TN calls it) offical answers right here. I began chatting to a few members and even found a place to hunt this fall through here.

This weekend I plan on meeting some members face to face.

I deer hunted the 2004 Mz and Gun season. After the season closed, I was Google Searching deer hunting and, like many others here, TnDeer popped up.

I joined in Feb 2005.

I have learned more from this web site than in any other way. Looking at my success rate, I am considering bring a Class Action Lawsuit against TnDeer. ;\)

TnDeer is Awesome!!!

I had another name can't remember what it was.
I was off for quite a while due to working at Comcast.
I worked all the time and never got to get on a computer while I was at home.
So finally I landed my IT job and finally got back on as my name now and been on ever since. I think I joined back in 2011 for my second time

I was told about TNdeer by a friend called Norman back then who wanted me to come on here and help TNbow and some guys help fight the cross-bow people , I checked it out for about 5 Months and then I joined. Well the Cross-Bow fight was lost and the Traditional bow fight was lost before that so us old guys never get to win and keep things Traditional but we still keep arguing about the good old day though . I think TNdeer is great.

I was slummin' one day....no, really, I was just back from a deer hunt at my cabin and feeling kinda down. I wanted to go back but job, kids and school, etc kept me from it. I was starting to get depressed...thought of jumping out of the basement window a few times...it was bad.

So, as I sat in my man cave sipping on an adult bev and feeling sorry for myself I typed in tennessee deer....and tndeer came up. I didn't really know anything about the forum so for a few years I just would go there to chase away the blues about not being in TN. I'd go to the trophy rooms, deer sightings and I even downloaded the wall paper!

One day I happened to see the forums thing and signed up....I haven't thought about jumping out that basement window since! But, I do have thoughts of one a little higher from time to time...haha

Yes there must always be a tndeer.com. may it be so. Hey maybe if we had a page on Facebook we could find even more Deer hunters to come here . There is some way of linking those places somehow. I know the Tennesean sports writer started a page hat links to a Tennesean newspaper sports page called Glory Days or something.
