Maybe this guy only got into the ATF for the Alcohol and Tobacco aspects of the job?? How else can you explain a federal freakin' firearm agent who thinks that a replica can be converted into a "machine gun"? What's next? He's going to go after Cracker Barrel for displaying a replica shotgun over the fireplace? The ATF has no credibility.

I read about these specific weapons last year. Its true, the lowers are forged and actually the same in all aspects of a Colt or any other AR. Simply put a real upper on it and a trigger kit and your in business, a true frankengun. I even accepts real Magazines with no mods. I had read the import was stopped, apparently some of them got through. I dont believe everything I read or hear but in this case I think the BATF hit the nail on the head and it was a good call.

But what's a lower with an Airsoft upper?
A toy.
Sold in a toy store.
By a toy company in Taiwan.

Absolutely not true. Talk about bad news coming at ya. Felons could simply buy the "Toy" then buy an upper and go to town. No background check and no form 4473. To be a "Toy" it cannot be easily converted to an operational weapon. You could make this "Toy" a full fledged, dressed out AR in about 2 hours an expert in about half that. Its not even a rivet kit gun, its a completely forged, quality piece.

Shows what i know about AR's 
I know many EBR (Evil Black Rifle) collectors who were hoping the BATF would clear them. Most knew they would not.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the lower is the only part of an AR that has to be registered. So therefore that's an easy way to get around the background check. Good call in my book as well.
