To my understanding CATOOSA WMA is paid by TN Hunting & Fishing license only, not everyones taxes !!
it is public land ,for hunters its great to stop the atvs but for the other ppl paying taxes its not so cut and dry. It isn't "public land" It's Wildlife Management Area, which requires a Wildlife Management Area permit to enter, and any and all posted regulations to be followed. If the free hunting guide or a sign there says "No ATVs" then it's the same as "No Loitering" or "Do Not Pass." And everyone's paid taxes at some point in their life - I think it's B.S. that I can't drive between 11pm and 6am even though I've given right near $800 to the gov't in income tax alone, but I don't do it, because it's against the law. Same with taking my ZJ on the trails in Cheatham or Yanahli: It's illegal. Paying taxes isn't an excuse to break the law. Well now we see why hunting licenses are not selling in TN. The non hunting trail riders should have to buy a permit for riding on all WMA and park and forest land then they will be forced to pay their share of keeping our Tennessee WMAs going , some people think they should have a free ride .

Ultimately, its TWRA call, no matter if we agree or not. Changing people on the board wont change that.
