If they'd TAX their azzes like we citizens are taxed, I think many would leave. Unfortunately, most would not only NOT be paying ANY income taxes under our current system, but many would be receiving more entitlement benefits than wages.
As is, MOST current American citizens are not paying "their fair share" of income taxes. It's only the "Middle" class and wealthy who are paying nearly all the income taxes collected, meaning the Middle Class and wealthy pay more than their "fair share". I think about 47% of Americans pay no income tax at all, so wouldn't MOST of the current illegals be joining this 47% group?
Then it sounds like a plan to turn this into 53% of Americans paying no taxes, while this new "majority" demands a shrinking group of society's givers "give" more to the growing group of takers.
Totally SECURING OUR BORDERS should be prerequisite to any discussion of amnesty to any of the current illegals. And I believe Rubio is trying to direct this conversation towards securing our borders. We need illegals to be afraid to cross, not just see getting caught as a minor inconvenience.
Next we need major tax reform, totally doing away with income taxes, going from the old income tax system to a new national sales tax. No one would be able to cheat the new system, everyone would have at least some skin in the game, and most honest Middle-class taxpayers would pay a lot less with a new national sales tax replacing the outdated income tax.
This would be so efficient that billions of taxpayer dollars could be saved annually in doing away with the behemoth IRS bureaucracy, and no one would be spending any more time each Spring preparing income taxes. Sales tax waivers on food and the first portion of certain necessities would become a better way of financially helping low-income people (as opposed to getting income tax credits that negated any income tax). For example, the first $3,000 of an automobile's purchase cost could be exempt from the sales tax, the first $20 of the purchase price of any article of clothing, etc., which would apply to and benefit everyone, no matter what your income, although it would most benefit those with lower incomes.
Just think how many people currently don't report earned income they make (especially those working illegally), yet they would not be able to not pay their fair share under a national sales tax replacing the income tax. Very simple compared to the government trying to collect revenue via income taxes.

Rubio was on Rush today. Very articulate and passionate about securing the border first. Rush loved it but I'm not buying it. Even if the legislation placed an emphasis on closing the border, the current executive branch would not enforce it.
Rush also did a segment on Latino voting. Apparently, the GOP received a larger Latino vote percentage in the election BEFORE the 1980's amnesty bill than they did directly after. How's that for, gracias!

Even if the legislation placed an emphasis on closing the border, the current executive branch would not enforce it. While I agree the current executive branch is much of the problem, our choosing to just do nothing just emboldens Obama to ignore our Constitution yet even more, as they "pick & choose" just which federal laws they're going to enforce or ignore.
Should we not do whatever we can to secure our borders?
