I will be picking up a tc venture today in .204 Ruger for my predator only gun. Any one using this caliber on dogs and cats? Form what I've read it seems to be an ideal predator caliber.

They shoot great!! I had a r15 in 204 and didn't really like what happened with that little round. It might have been a 1 in a million chance but I shot a dog facing me head on with my 204. Center punched right in the middle of his neck/chest at 20 steps. He bang flopped ,stiff legged and all then ten seconds later was on his feet and Running. He would have still died but I put another in him.

I love mine i have 2 including a tc venture, no problems this far. What do you lIke/ dislike about your venture? And are you shooting factory loads or hand loads? What ammo have you had the best results with? Sorry for all the questions. But Im planning on doing hand loads because all the ammo I've seen for them is kinda high.

I haven't had the venture long, about a month git it from a guy on here. I haven't had time to mess with it yet or even sight it in for that matter. I love the feel and it is extremely balanced with an exceptional trigger for the low price. I shot hornady 45 gr. Soft point factory ammo out of my other and it is a tac driver.
Im handloading as well is why i haven't messed with the other yet, but ill probably do that in a few min since its nasty outside.

You said you were hand loading if you don't mind me asking what are some of your .204 loads? The reloading manules I have are old and do not any .204 loads on them is the reason in asking. Thanks- Ben pm if you want

My cousin dumped a Turkey in va at 200 yards with his ruger American in 204 using 40 grain vmax. Shot it in the back with no damage to the breast. I was torn between the 204 and 22-250 when I bought my venture 22-250. Still have not shot it yet.
