Went by Shelby park, stocked last week. Nothing. Tried trout magnets, corn, even a few minnows a guy gave me. Hopefully better luck next time. Guy told me they were doing good last couple days, today he said only 3 had been caught all day that he had seen, so I felt a little better

1/16 oz or 1/8 oz black and yellow rooster tails work good.

I use a small Eagle Claw Baitholder size 6 hook, with half of a nightcrawler (or however much completely covers the hook) and where there is trout, I've yet been skunked. But when they aren't hitting that, I've caught many on the 1/16th oz black and yellow rooster tail as well.

The kids and I caught 22 yesterday. They made me fry half of them last night. East TN lake, minnows, gold Blue Fox Spinner.

those little salad shrimp they sell in bags at the grocery store are sometimes really great (I think it helps that they are light in color for better visibility).
Trout are just like crappie in that regard - there appears to be no rhyme or reason to why they like a certain color/shape/size bait on a particular day, but it's always subject to change by the time the next guy comes along.

Trout magnets, the yellow are the best, hands down. Have seen them first had pass on different colors and go straight for a yellow one.
I only fish the steams and rivers in the Mtns here in East TN and have never left with out my limit. If for some reason i cant trigger a bite with that, throw on a small or med size rooster tail, and it'll get them moving.
Also Nightcrawlers. Everyone comes up with there own tricks for them, just as I have devoloped mine, if nothing else will work, i rig up my nightcrawler secret, and i'll catch anything else left in the river.
