I just got two feeders and I was wondering what you guys put in your feeders during the spring and summer to help provide the protein needed to your bucks. My feeders can be automatic or gravity.

So that is more for a gravity feeder?

Yeah it would probably work better for a gravity or trough feeder. Most people add it to livestock feed to boost the protein.

people i know used to use corn mixed with "protein feed" because the deer will eat it mixed in with corn but dont particularly like it by itself. Too expensive for me. I plant 40+ fields of wheat/clover mix and that is far more beneficial. Corn is about 8% protein.....the plots are 14-16 i believe. and the tonnage per acre is way more than i could buy in a bag of feed. \:\)
