Saturday I noticed that my left front tire was making a low squeak squeak squeak sound when driving at lower speeds. Sound appeared to get louder when I turned the wheel to the right. Only way I can hear it is driving through the neighborhood, not on an open road...so is it happening at a higher speed, I dont know. Engaged the 4WD and the sound did not change. Truck is a 2006 2500HD Silverado.

Any idea what the problem may be?

If it's only while you're turning, it could be a front wheel bearing. But the only experience I've had with a wheel bearing wasn't a squeak.....it was more a rhythmic whine, almost like you'd imagine the grinding sound if a brake rotor was badly warped. WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP WHOMP at slow speeds...say turning from a street into a parking lot.

Its a constant rythmic squeak, just gits a smidgen louder when I turn the wheel to the right.

1. Brake wear
2. Debris trapped and rubbing
3. Unit bearing wear/failure
4. Loose wheel lug nuts

My guess is #3.

When was the last time you had your brakes done?

Check the wheel bearings for slop....

I had a squeek one time exactly like that.... found out it was my lug nuts loose and it was the wheel against the studs/nuts squeeking. Figured it out and tightened the nuts before it "egged" the holes out.

Does it stop when you apply brakes? If so, its the wear indicator.

I'd say you have a wheel bearing going out.

I was leaning this way, mainly because it happens specifically on a right turn.
