Isn't it amazing when something strange happens and you later discover why? I was hunting a ML draw hunt last season. I shot a buck with 63gr RL7 and a 325 FTX broadside shot thru the boiler room. I got to the deer and found the bullet exited just in front of the opposite hind quarter. I expected a messy job but was surprised that it wasn't. Never the less, I returned 2 days later and climbed the same tree. When it began getting light, I saw a tree top 1" in diameter, about 10 yards in front of me, had been cut off. I had shot the top out of a small tree. The bullet then traveled another 60 yards and hit exactly where I was aiming. Even though it did something weird inside the deer to exit at the rear. To me, that says a lot for that load, including terminal ballistic performance. I now use that same bullet and powder in my H&R SS Ultrahunter at Ruger #1,2 levels 2300fps
