That buck is a beast. Should have some big boys to go after next season.

Looks like that bad boy has been in a scrap or two. Good luck with him next season. I don't know that I'd say that was a signpost rub although it's a big rub...one that gets you fired up about it's maker. Usually a signpost rub is made on the same tree yearly. After a few years the center starts getting worn away enough that the tree takes on the appearance of being bottlenecked. I've seen quite a few signpost rubs like this that were on trees that were 4"-10" in diameter above and below the rub but only 1"-6" in the center of the rub. I've seen a few where they just eventually rubbed the tree in half.

Thanks for the interesting info Mike. I assumed sign post because it acually is scraped in front of it. In fact if you look in between my dads legs and then about 1 1/2 feet down you'll see a big buck foot where he just rubbed and scraped the ground recently. Rained last night..
I will check it again next year. May even put a cam on it.

Yesiree, that first buck is the real deal. Look at how stained his tarsals are, black as oil. I'd bet he is 5.5+ all day long, and wouldn't be surprised if he was older. He looks pretty healthy for this time of year, which is a good thing. Best of luck with him this fall.

2 great bucks! I'd say for sure 5.5+ on him. Is this the first time you've ever seen the top one? What are they coming to corn?

First buck, yes. Second no. We saw him and the big antlered deer I posted two weeks ago (thread linked in this post). I also already had pics of him which are in that thread as well.
I think I'm going to move two more cams to this property. The big buck from my other thread is driving me nuts.. I think he will be a fairly high scoring deer(for TN) but he hasn't let me get but that one crappy pic.
And yes I put 25lbs of corn in front of each cam BUT that is not how you get big buck pics it just helps. The tbread I posted about two weeks ago actually had no corn. Find a travel route intersection which will be a focal point already and put a little corn. This will just get them to use it a little more (trail the corn down the trails too). They don't have any corn in front of them now but were gonna go back and put some more. I'm sure the deer had already eaten the 25lbs in a couple days.. in fact I'll upload a pic of the big 8 point eating leaves instead.

Holler-have you been getting any good post season bucks? I know you had some true giants on cam before season and a few during.

That angle really shows his tine length. I'd bet he has over 55" of tine length

That big deer is an absolute horse. If he lost any weight throughout the rut then it looks like he has already gained it all back.

Yes, sir. I'd love to be cutting the back straps out of that beast! An awesome animal indeed; gotta be pusing past at least 5.5 right? That's the kind of buck that consumes my mind and would inevitably become my sole focus had I seen pics of him during the season.
