With deer season less than a week away, he was out in the middle of the day. I was pumped!
I never did see this deer in person. I got a few pics of him later in the fall. He only showed his face in legal shooting light on camera once. I wish I had a dollar for every time this has happened to me and my hunting buds, as well as the many times I have read about it happening on here. Mature bucks have an unbelievable way of disappearing at just the right second, only to survive another season. Like I said earlier, best of luck with him this fall, he is a dandy!

Know exactly how you feel friend. On Sept 11th pulled a card with a 6x5 monster. Many in camera forum thought he would push 170. Actually saw him the next evening. What a brute.
Hunted hard all year and never saw him again. Got more pics of him in late september abd early october on another farm 3 miles away.
Let a couple nice bucks walk waiting on him but he never showed again. Not used to eating my buck tag but it was worth it.
Maybe next year.

I hope he makes it onto your wall next season! Great buck.
It is what makes the off-season dreams so good.

The racks are practically identical. The right side tines point straight up and the left ones sweep forward. Even that characteristic remains constant.

I think it is the same deer as well. Hope he hangs onto the drop tine next year for you. One of the largest drop tine deer I got to watch grow, he had them one year next year only one, etc etc
Best of luck. Hope you can get him figured out and hunt him when it is right!
