I believe Unertl scopes were made in America.
They was first used in WWI by the Germans they where also used in WWII. I do belive a US company did sometime make them thoes are what the Marine Core used.

I looked thyough a J. Unertl (15x Ultra Varmint) in 1970 0n a friend's custom 220 swift. I was in awe. That rig pictured is a beautiful example of the heyday of Americam pride in craftsmanship in this geezer's opinion. Thanks for the pic.

In my book for the money there was no finer production rifle on the market back in the day. I think back in the 70s you could buy that gun new for under 2 hundred dollars. I have a standard barrel 25-06 bdl that was manufactured in 89 and it is real good shooter.
