For those that have patterned both, have you found any noticeable advantage in shooting the 3.5" shell over the 3" one??? Ad please list what gun and choke you use?? Thanks.

Did you pattern the 3 inch load with the Hevi Shot .656 choke?? I'm interested in comparable patterns using the same choke.

While the 3.5" pattern above has 40 more hits in the circles shown (18% increase), the 3" pattern looks more uniform to my eyes. At the end of the day, both are more than enough to get the job done if we do our part and shoot straight.

Camaro12 - are you considering only shooting 3" because of recoil, cost or what? Just wondering because I have a friend that only shoots 3" Nitros because of difference in recoil (when compared to 3.5" Nitros) and he flat murders the turkeys out to 45 yards, no problem. They shot great in his gun and he has been very pleased over the last few years with the change from 3.5" to 3".

Andy, I'm asking because I have shot the 3 inch Blends for a couple of years thru my 3" chambered Remmy 11-87's and I'm toying with the idea of hunting with my Browning Silver this season. With it's 3.5" chamber, I can shoot both shells but didn't want to have to purchase the 3.5" load if it didn't put an appreciable number of pellets in a 10 inch circle at 40 yards.

yes just didnt have the pic handy. the 3" shot VERY compairable to the 3.5 using the sumtoy so i went with 3" on that choke.
the Hevi choke with 3" was around 198-205 depending on where you put the circle and had about the same overall pattern so i went with 3.5 in that gun/choke combo.
I use the Sumtoy set up in my M2000 99% of the time though

Then let me go a step further. Has anyone patterned both shells thru and Invector Plus barrel and if so with what choke and what were the results of the patterns??

I like the 3 inch because If I get in a bind shooting at a gobbler there is less of a chance of breaking my nose or collar bone. I have witnessed both calling birds for friends shooting the 3.5s

My Remington's are just 3 inch so I'm really interested in those loads thru and Invector Plus barrel.

I don't notice to much of a difference in recoil from 3 to 3.5 im a bigger dude so I am young idk if that makes a difference but a 3.5 inch load isn't that bad to shoot plus in a year even if you pattern it youll probably shooting it 6 or 7 times max that's if you tag out.

I do all my pattern shooting out of a lead sled and when shooting a longbeard I never feel the recoil, so it's 3.5 for me.
