If I was a gun owner, if someone was breaking into my house, if I had one, my shotgun would be my first choice. 7 rounds of 3" mag, number 1 buckshot is relatively lethal.
If I had any guns.
If I had any, I'd have to agree.

I agree, but I would use 4/0 buck shot

I hope those loaded guns are secure when kids are around. My kids were taught at a VERY early age about guns. They know they can ask to see, fondle, hold, etc. any gun I own, any time they want to sit down with me and do so. They know how dangerous they can be, they know how they work, and not to touch one unless an adult is overseeing it. Education and exposure are the best offensive plan, IMHO.
X2 it's all about properly educating them!

They are not pointless. Maybe a dangerous game of chicken, but if they are scary looking enough.......

Yeah I don't get why have guns out and not loaded and or placed where you can get to them if needed. Glad it worked out ok for them.
I am a gun owner and... my 9mm with its 17 rounds is in my bed holster. Then if I'm in another spot of my home I have 15 rounds plus 1 in my 20sf....then if I'm in another spot I have my 18inch 12 ga loaded with turkey loads. So if anyone is stupid enough to come into my home. I bet the noise will run them off or make them wish they had. The only time my guns aren't out and loaded is if my son has friends over. But come lights out you can bet I have my glock out.

Any gun that you may be forced to use should be loaded at all times.

Most of the time all pointing an unloaded gun at someone will do is get you killed or shot.
