Publicity stunt imo. Will never pass.
While I'd like to agree with you (and do have my doubts about this passing within the coming year), I said similar when the democratic operatives starting pushing Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton as a Presidential candidate. In my mind,
THAT was just a publicity stunt, and such an unqualified individual would never pass the muster of the primaries during 2008.
Meanwhile the same type people that keep re-electing Feinstein and have re-elected Obama may be hoping we just see this as a publicity stunt. I believe the democrats will pull this off and much more in banning all semi-automatics before Obama's term ends
should the democrats take back control of congress in 2014 (whereby democrats would control the congress, the senate, and the presidency).
IMO, all that's standing between us and a much more massive gun ban than this list is the 2014 congressional elections.
