I just bought a new tc venture in 22-250 and just wondering about what to shoot out of it. At least what would be a good starting point with this particular rifle. Standard rifle not fluted and not a bull barrel. I put a Redfield revenge 4x12 on top. I hope to kill some yotes and cats with it and maybe the occasional va turkey. Thanks ahead for any info.

Hornady Varmint Express 40 gr is 4150 FPS. This is what I shoot and it is wicked fast.

Haven't shot any yotes with them yet but I don't think they are designed to pass through. I saw a piece the other night with Fred Eichler at the Hornady plant and they shot a 55 gr .223 VE at a a block of ballistic gel to show how the bullet was designed to perform. It penetrated about 3-4 inches and blew up, making a pretty decent cavity of mush.

I shot a groundhog with that round and it popped like a watermelon.
