Sgt - To be honest I do not know if it takes regular AK mags. I don't have any additional AK mags to check.
I took that wording from the web - I don't know if "special" was used as in it is a 10 round magazine due to the magazine capacity restrictions back in 1994-2004. As you can see KBI started shipping in 1999 - during the "assault" weapons ban time frame. This rifle apparently did not get classified as an "assault" weapon.

It likely means you cannot use standard AK magazines... it is probably like the Saiga AK's.
Do you have a cash or trade value in mind towards trades? In today's market, you might be thinking it is worth anywhere from $600-2000...

DRM - I haven't really thought much about a cash price.
Was hoping to pickup a bolt action 223. If I had to put a cash price/trade value it would be close to the low end of what you posted.
$600 range...
