I have been buying these in the store to use in soup and stews. Thinking about trying to grow my own. Anyone do this with Leeks? Was not sure how they grew in Tn's climate.

Leeks require a very sandy soil....that's why you have to really rinse them before cooking. I believe their grown commercially very similar to rice. I'm not sure, though.

Ramps are wild leeks. I believe ramps are native to East Tn.

Yes sir, ramps are very common in this area. I did not know they were wild leeks. Thanks for the info.
