I heard that many bucks avoid salt licks for some reason. Don't know that's true, but I've heard it.

Same thing happen to me last year. I got my cams out earlier than the year before because I was excited to see the different stages in their antler development but was about to go crazy because all I was getting was pictures of does.
Finally around the end of July I had two different bachelor groups show up. I was feeding corn and had a trophy rock out. Dont know why they showed up so late. I dont even have any cams on that track of property this year.

Your herd ratio could be messed up. For every doe you see you should see a buck. But in Tennessee 4-5 does per buck is good. But if you have been taking that many pics something is probably wrong with your herd ratio.

Very common for does to dominate bait and salt lick sites. Their needs are generally greater than those of bucks due to milk production. However bucks generally hit the salt once their antlers have finished growing. Aparantly the salt is important during the antler mineralization process. Yet it is still common to get individual does more frequently than individual bucks. My local sex ratio runs around 1.3 does per buck, but the sex ratio of the salt lick pictures will be 6 does per buck. Individual does will go to the salt every day and sometimes twice a day, while individual bucks may only use salt once every two or three days.
