Watch the short (:50ish) video in this link. New York seemed to be closer to outright confiscation than most thought. When it didn't go to vote the democrat (old dude) begged the republican to not release the "rejected proposals" the democrats were trying for.

Here’s the list McLaughlin posted that he says he received from a colleague and notes it is not confidential:
Confiscation of “assault weapons”
Confiscation [of] ten round clips
Statewide database for ALL Guns
Continue to allow pistol permit holder’s information to be replaced to the public
Label semiautomatic shotguns with more than 5 rounds or pistol grips as “assault weapons”
Limit the number of rounds in a magazine to 5 and confiscation and forfeiture of banned magazines
Limit possession to no more than two (2) magazines
Limit purchase of guns to one gun per person per month
Require re-licensing of all pistol permit owners
Require renewal of all pistol permits every five years
State issued pistol permits
Micro-stamping of all guns in New York State
Require licensing of all gun ammo dealers
Mandatory locking of guns at home
Fee for licensing, registering weapons
They must want all out civil war because this stuff just isn't going to fly with the true Patriots of this country.

I fail to see how so many gun owners can't see that total confiscation of all guns is the goal here. Yet, time after time, they divide us with gun owners saying, "Well, they aren't going to take ol' Betsy from me - I can still deer hunt!" and these gun owners support another nail in the coffin of ALL gun owners. Anti-Gun liberals want them all. Period. They have never passed a law and said that their job was done - there is always another "loophole" that they want to close off.
To be honest, the so-called concealed carry "permits" go against the 2nd Ammendment. Why should we have to ask the government for permission to carry our guns? What good is a gun if you don't have it with you? Yet we have been conditioned to think that it's a priveledge to be able to carry a gun. That's what scares me the most. We can be conditioned over time to slowly give up our rights so that any crumb the government throws back to us is seen as a gift when it should be free all along.
