Channel 5 news did a story on my game cams and some howling coyote videos. I have a direct link to the story on their website, but i can't figure out how to copy it. I'm sure it won't stay on the site very long, and I want it as a keepsake.
I already tried a couple of downloads I saw on-line. Even though they were from questionable sources, I tried downloading the software to help me do it. At any rate, I never could figure it out.
Does anybody have the ability to do this? Thanks so much in advance.

I would contact Channel 5 and see if they could email you the video clip to store on your home computer. If they say the video file size is too big to email, I'd ask could I bring a hard drive by (thumb drive or external USB) and have them copy it onto it for me. Best of luck with your effort.

I'm not sure I understand. Unless you mean having my cell phone video the computer screen. I could do it that way with my video cam, but I need more quality. Thanks, though.

They will actually send me a disc of it, but it won't have the lead-ins. I would like to have the content of the newscaster as well as the video clip. Thanks.

I use vdownloader successfully to snag vids off of YouTube for youth group purposes. The thing is, most programs like that are designed specifically to pull off of sites like that, and I'm not sure if it will work off Channel 5's site or not. Now if they had it posted on YouTube, then certainly.
I can vouch for the free downloadable program, however, for what it may be worth in your situation.

I hadn't tried that one but will give it a shot. Thanks.

If you don't want to mess with it, I can try it later, as it's on my work comp but not here at home, but so far it's been a good replacement. I used to use Zamzar, but they broke trust with YouTube or something, and were no longer compatible.
For YouTube use, I just make sure vdownloader is open on my comp, go to any YouTube vid I want, highlight the address and click copy, and it automatically goes into the vdownloader. Then click download or save or whatever it is, and it will save it directly into your comp.
If it weren't easy, I wouldn't be able to use it.

WBIR did a short thing about my dad shortly after his death. We called the station and they sent us the segment on a CD. This will probably depend on the situation, but it's worth a shot.
