My email:
I understand hunting is going to be banned on Coal Creek property. I would like to offer a compromise that will satisfy the concerns. Make Coal Creek an archery only area and sell a hunting permit in addition to the riding permit. With this aditional permit is a guide addressing rules of conduct. One such rule would be that harvested animals must be covered when returning to the parking area. These changes will greatly reduce the number of hunters, remove the safety issues and avoid alarming or offending non-hunters on the property.

Thank you for your consideration,

Darren

Makeing it archery only isn't going to solve anything...If they are gonna allow archery hunting, why not allow gun hunting?

my email:
It has been brought to my attention that hunting is now prohibited on Coal Creek lands. It seems you are worried about permit sales being affected by allowing hunting. I can tell you this WILL affect permit sales as I and my family and friends will no,longer buy permits for your area. I will tell every hunter i know and encourage a boycott. There are many other places to ride where hunters are welcome.

their response:
Thanks for contacting me. Since Coal Creek started selling permits 13 years ago, hunting has not been allowed. This is not new and our policy has not changed. Internally, our policy is that so long as people have a permit and are not hunting near a gas well or OHV trail (not endangering themselves or others) we don't say something to them. I'm sorry you feel the need to start some kind of boycott. The biggest problem is that so many hunters or others come to the property (especially in our more remote areas) without a permit.

Piss on Coal Creek. It may hurt em, but they know they make there money of the utv's. They can blame trespassing all they want, but more people trespass to simply ride than they do to hunt. Most people that access through Briceville have never purchased a permit.

If hunting was never officially allowed, just not punished, what are you guys mad about? Getting all angry and tossing out threats is NOT the way to address this and get results.

I am an OHV guy and a hunter... And I don't have a problem with seeing an uncovered deer on an ATV.

it is a very remote area. why do you need to carry anywhere when you are just living day to day? better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Original Post stated:
"Coal Creek is now banning all hunting on their 72k acres. They state that they don't want hunters riding around with deer on their ATVs to be seen by non-hunting riders. They're concerned it will affect permit sales. Coal Creek OHV and North Cumberland are connected like puzzle pieces."

Where did "they" state this? Can you provide a link?
