What is the best size prop for top speed on this motor with an 18-6 Stratos fiberglass bass boat?

Check out bassboatcentral.com. They have a stratos forum and a prop forum. You'll probably find someone running the exact same boat/motor with some info.

What Spurhunter said. There's a lot more to it than just saying this or that prop is best. Depends on several factors. The guys over on BBC will hook you up.

Just don't turn to many RPMs with the Johnson, they will not handle to many RPMs or you will be rebuilding it.

Thanks Rackseeker but you are a year too late with that bit of information. Just cruising along at 5200 RPM when I lost a piston, burned a slice right down the side. Just had the whole motor bored and re-pistoned.

Raker 24 pitch is what i have run on both of my johnson 150's in the past. 3 blade raker's for speed and 4 blade renegade props for hole shot, fair speed and handling.

Raker 24 pitch should get you where you need to be...

Heavier the boat would need lower pitched prop, right?.....I have a 19' Procraft,( might be heavier than his Stratos/150 set up ) that on my 150, with a 24 pitch, was too much prop pitch and I had to go to a 19 pitch..... I have now got a 200hp and now running the same 24 pitch prop, with perfect effect.
