If owl doesn't work in the morning I'll usually bust out the slate and do some soft calling

Favorite mouth call: Tom Teaser "But Naked Hen" (crazy how much better I can run this one that any of the other 100s I've tried)
Wingbone: Yes, and like them a lot
Owl hoot: Yes. I quit carrying an owl call 2 years ago when I realized that -- after only 10 years of doing it in the car and when I was home alone, and while squirrel hunting, etc -- that I can owl hoot louder with my voice with a more clear notes than with any call I've tried. Turkeys like it too.
Gobble: Not with just my voice, but with a diaphragm, yes.

When Jim Pollard was with Woodhaven his batwing call was one of the best I have ever used....after he left that call sucked for whatever reason.. Some of the best calls I have ever used are Final Roost made here in KY.. David Holleran makes awesome calls...Most of my calls come from an old man down the road absolutely the very best glass call I have ever used... Been using same one for around 20 yrs.

I tried Woodhaven mouth calls last year.... wasn't impressed for all the hype.... I think I have found some I am going to be happy with though.... we'll see for sure when season opens.
