In 1975/76, I went into a K-Mart and asked in sporting goods if they had any deer hunting rifles on lay-a-way that was overdue for payment that they were willing to sell.


They had a Marlin 336 .35 Rem. that had not been paid on in 6 months and should have long ago been sold. Said he could sell it to me for remainder of cost.

I asked how much ?

He said $37 + tax.

I left with it and still have it today. \:\)
