Anybody a member of Gun Owners of America?
I truly appreciate what the NRA does on our behalf. I just dont agree on how they go about doing some things.

I recently joined. I used to be a member, but got tired of paying $35 in annual dues, and them spending $500 a year in sending me junk mail. I felt my dues were being put to good use. But, I rejoined - hoping they would take the fight to Obama and his cronies.

To those of you that don't like the extra mailings asking for money and the extra phone calls, you can opt out of all that by calling member services and asking to be placed on the "do not solicit" list.

That's the reason I quit several years ago, they could save a lot of money just by not bugging me for more money every month.I know they do a lot for us but geese all ready.

Guys I understand because I've been there.

But the LAW makes them ask for money. By law their member dues can ONLY be used for member services, NOT for fighting the anti-gun crowd. They HAVE to ask for money from their members for all the other stuff they do like the NRA-ILA, US Olympic shooting team, the police shooting programs, etc, etc.

Then why in the wild world of sports don't they just say that instead of being rude? I've had a few call me over the years that were just out and out rude...Be straight forward, drop the script, put a zipper on the rude behavior and most of us would respond favorably. I still joined...

Coach I would guess that fundraising may be outsourced it is a sad but true way most is going. If you think they are bad try to go give blood/plasma a few times then stop. They are like vampires and will hound you to no end.

And I did join

Haha...it's crazy that they would hire telemarketers to undermine their good will! I'll definitely do the opt out thing...

I rejoined a few days ago. as far as the junk mail and calls go, emails go directly to my spam folder which i never check, and i dont answer phone calls from numbers not in my phones contact list. Having privacy star or whoscall apps on my razr lets me permanently block all numbers/text from anyone.
