I was swimming in Old hickory about 25 years ago near the dam. I had been seeing quite a few rescue boats in the vicinity so we figured they were looking for a body. Sure enough, not 30 or 40 yards away they fished a stiff one up out of the water, trying to hide it from the hundreds of folks swimming out there. It was sad, but also creepy at the same time. One more story. Around the same time, same swimming place, I heard a child screaming in the shallow water and immediately went over to aid him. His mama wasn't that far away. I figured he'd stepped on a glass bottle and got cut. What i saw freaked me out. When I saw his hand I about threw up. He had gotten gigged in the hand, through and through, by a very decayed and dead catfish. IT was the nastiest, stinkiest thing. Well, mom had no idea about the barbs, so I had to grab the stinkin' fish, break off the barb and pull it from the poor childs hand. I'm sure that hurt a bunch. Hope she took him to ER.

This I can believe.

The DA thing about the smile, that's a load of K-rap.

I saw a squirrel migration in the late 90's while fishing the white river in Arkansas. Squirrels everywhere swimming across the river and all over the roads. It waz crazy. They didn't seem to be going in any certain direction but there were thousands of them all over the place. We would hang the net over the side of the boat and they would swim to it and just hang on and rest.

I seen this as well, was fishing at Calico Rock. Use to go every year our wallboard supplier carried us every year.
