I was just thinking back to the mid 90's when everyone was using overdraws on their bows. Why are they not as popular?

because today's bows don't need it for the speed which was the only real advantage. too many issues with tuning. all i can see are disadvantages.

The height of when everyone was using actual overdraws everyone was also using big, heavy 600grain aluminum arrows and looking for any bump in speed they could get. The technology and speed of the modern bows, along with the shelf/riser desgin and shorter brace height, along with carbon arrows, basically eliminated the need for overdraws. Plus, an overdraw greatly magnifies any flaws in form, especially bow torque. All that being said though, most of us that are using dropaways and whisker biscuits basically are using overdraws anyway.
