When you're sighting in a rifle how long do you let the barrel cool between shots or do you do 2-3 shots then wait?

I usually shoot once, align cross hairs to hole, shoot again to verify.

depends on ambient temperature if it is 100 degrees out side i usually have a rag soaked in ice cold water i apply to bbl between shots

if it is cool out side say 45-50 i shoot wait a minute or two shoot the wait about 5 minutes

this is for shooting groups

for sighting in i make sure bbl is completly cool your fist shot will be out of a cold bbl if the load groups well it will be fine on follow up shots

Thanks all. Was talking about it with someone and got me to thinking about it. I shoot once and then let it cool before shooting again.

I never really count the shots but when the barrel gets "warm" ill set it aside and work on the next rifle in line. Usually by then the first one has cooled down enough to put back on the rest.
