I am needing to do some reloading this weekend. I am currently out of small rifle primers. However I have accumulated a lot of small rifle magnum primers. I am using Hodgdon H4895 powder. Does anybody see a problem with this? I think I will be alright. I expect the velocities to be a little higher, so I will load them on light side.

Yep. Velocity probably won't change much, but pressure may peak more quickly, or higher. Accuracy may decrease, as well. Treat it as a totally diferent load

Ive never messed with a pressure gun, bit i really don't see there being enough difference in the 2 to make a difference. To my understanding a magnum primer is best used with larger powder charges and harder to ignite propellant. Your still lighting the same powder and same amount with a hotter primer. But im no expert
