Amazing, law enforcement in boulder, co. probably dispatch animals everyday and nothing is ever said but due to this large bull elk being the neighborhood pet its a story. I guess what he should have done is set under a bridge somewhere and eat a sandwich until it killed someone then cop haters could say he did nothing. What i'd like to know is whats normal procedure and not what some police chief whos trying to do damage control is saying on camera. Poor guy who is doing the job and has seen the same thing done a hundred times. is gonna be the fall guy.

Yotekiller11 you are obviously an LEO, Did you watch the whole thing? Would you discharge your weapon while on duty and not report it? While on duty would you call a friend to come get it with a privately owned vehicle and take it home to be processed? I know for a fact that a weapons discharge in a populated area would require a report be written. I agree, shooting it was a viable option and the officers decision, the rest I believe is not.

Unicam, I have read the entire post and I don't work in Boulder, Co. I'm just saying what is normal procedure in that area. If most law enforcement discharge a round while on duty, yes some kind of report is required, But I'm sure in some areas (Maybe Boulder,Co)killing a animal for various reasons is routine. Or you may be right the guys a doofus! We all have them, Law Enforcement is no exception. But why doe's society always jump all over LEO ?

This reminds me of the case going on down in N. Alabama right now. Arab, I think. Officer shot a big 10 pt. on duty, said it was a danger cause it keep crossing the road. Lost his job, now he's got a lawyer fighting to get his job back.

Why do they keep putting these signs up in high traffic areas and cause these deer to get killed

If he was a danger, wouldnt there be a record of people calling in about it?

I think the threat this elk showed was imaginary as Manti Teo's girlfriend.. (ZING)
