got paid today and best I can figure they took 23$ more in SSI than last year,,

It doesn't stop there. I got 2 letters in the mail a couple days ago. The first was a fancy envelope that looked like a wedding invitation from DISH. Exclusive offer for a valued customer, blah blah blah. Open it and read that I can get premium movie channels for half price. Also in the letter they informed me that my package plus DVR plan was being increased by 6 bucks 
2nd letter was from suburban propane informing me that my tank rental was going up to $100 a year
Not sure how much more I can take with bills going up and paychecks going down.

You need not to think that your pay went down or your tax went up, you just did not realize the the final payment for all the votes was going to end on Dec 31. SSI was just the method for the purchase of the vote. And on behalf of the Administration they want to thank you for your support, with some new taxes around the corner. But you have the new vote payment coming soon, at least in 4 years.

You paid more taxes last year Mr. Big but they hid it with a 2 per cent temporary deduction from SS until after election. Most people fell for it.
