I see alot of people building these things. They're nice and can afford some comfortable hunts on even the sloppiest of hunting days. What I haven't seen on a single one of them is an allowance for the rising/setting sun on any of the shooting window overhangs. Remember when building them that they are in all liklihood going on some type of field. If so then in all likihood they'll have a window facing towards the rising or setting sun. Early in the morning or late in the afternoon that sun will be low on the horizon potentially blinding the shooter. Remember to make accomodations for this.

I have a couple of those spring loaded curtain rods and some black mesh material and I just slide the bottom rod to what ever height needed to block the sun and you can see out the window. You can see through the mesh but I prefer not to. I have them for each window so I can blacken the window behind me to help hide movement inside the blind.

I use two rods per window and made the mesh stuff into curtains. I can move the lower rod up the window as far as needed. I use a rod on bottom and top so if the window is open the curtain doesn't fly around.
