If you are going to load a good amount of ammo in one sitting and dont want to shell out the money for a progressive press you may want to look at a turret press. Kits are a good start, but you will soon find yourself wanting/needing more items.

Best place to start reloading is a reloading manual and a mentor.

The speer manual is included with the rcbs kit. That is the kit i started with, when i got ready to purchase i watched eBay for two weeks and a sportsman's warehouse in Illinois ran that exact kit "buy it now" for $299.99 with $1 shipping. So after the rcbs rebate i had $251 in it

I would probably buy another for that price myself, i got lucky because the 25 they had sold in 6 hours.

On a side note that exact kit has been discontinued if im not mistaken

Most any of the loading manual will do and there are some good ones. I have about 6 and at one time or other I use them all. I would suggest you find someone you trust and reloads to advise it realy helps. I have a single stage because I like to hansdle each case and make sure it is right.

I am also buying my first press. I have been told that most dies iterchange. Does that also apply to shell holders? I am buying rcbs, I have saw the Lee shellholder kits and wondered if they would work as well.
