What will all this rain and rising lake levels do to the bass bite on a large lake? What are some good ways to catchem in these conditions?

I haven't bass fished in 30 years but if the water is back in the timber I would fish as close to the timber as possible. All fish like to prowel the timber picking up new food sources.

I remember watching a tournament on TV years ago and someone caught one out from under a swingset in somebody's yard that was flooded. I've always been told to go shallow and tight to cover when the water dramatically rises.

it can be tough fishing when the water is rising or high... if you csn catch it going down its some of the best fishing ever that ivc experienced. just try different things to see what works never know til you try.

Rising water will push the fish farther and farther back into the newly flooded cover. It can make the fishing a lot tougher as opposed to when the water is falling, thus pulling the fish out and making them more predictable to catch. A lot of times, with fresh water coming in so fast, it'll be murky to muddy. Couple rising, muddy water with cold water temps and that is some of the worst fishing conditions there are. Doesn't seem to be as bad if the water is rising later in the year, with warmer water temps.

It was tough today, we caught 8 fish and only had 2 keepers. The fellas that won had ended up having 17 lbs. all smallmouth. All the fish we caught was in 25' of water.
