This is like asking what is the best truck brand or boat brand or rifle brand or scope brand or binocular brand or treestand brand or beer brand. Your question has no right answer. Thankfully there are many really great bow brands.

During my years from the 60's into Y-2k's, I probably shot over 150 different brands of bows. The best one I ever shot was the one I shot the best. It made not one bit of difference who made it or how much it cost.
If I were going to go buy a bow today, I would shoot every one in the store...maybe two stores. I would then buy the one I liked best. I would not look at the brand name on any of them.
Also, I would not ever ask anyone what bow to buy. They are not the ones going to shoot it.

G5, Bear, Hoyt, PSE, Mathews, Quest, Martin, Elite, High Country, Parker, Bowtech.
Most people are just going to say whatever brand they own.
Obviously Quest is the best. The Pig Man said so....before he signed on with Bear.

I'd going to throw a twist to this.
Best I ever shot was a Mathews. Best I could afford that I liked is a Bear.

I have an Elite, but I'm new as a kindergartener to it. At the risk of sounding too tongue-in-cheek, I'd say the best bow is the one that feels the best to you when you drop a buck.

Let me give you the logical answer to your question. The best bow to buy is whatever the closest dealer to you sells, therefor can be a short distance to do anykind of warranty work on the bow u buy. I love bowtech's bows but my shop doesnt carry them so I shoot my second favorite Mathews. If u shoot your bow more than a few times before the season chances are u are gona need some warranty work. Bushings, cracked limb, housings, etc. Things ur dealer cant do unless is the manufactur he sells. Try and stay away from commercial bussines' like Dicks or Gander Mt. They know partly what theyre doing but dont take time to make it precise.. If your in line at my shop 3 deep, your gona be there a while.

It could be possible that they say the one they own because after researching it that's the one they thought was best...for me, that's what I did and I went with Mathews.....because it was best....for me. You gotta try 'em out, get the feel of 'em...my local archery shop has a small indoor range and before I went to Mathews I shot quite a few bows.

Been shooting the same High Country for 12 years now. It's not the fastest, but probably just as quiet as any other. Invested some $$$ up front and it's still performing. No reason to change.

Hoyt is my choice but this one will get kicked all over the place
My youngest son shoots a Hoyt after shooting a Mathews for years......... Here he is with the Mathews

And with the Hoyt...it's all in what you feel comfortable with...

Id go with hoyt or pse . Im unable to bow hunt with a compound bow due to my RA and bad back so i use a horton cross bow but If i could use a compound bow it would be either of those 2 . Im only 27 and they say I shouldnt have RA but the signs are there and the multiple test I have had done dont lie but Im determined I will use a compound bow..

PSE's xforce technology changed the game. Best speed bows out there if that's what you're looking for and their lineup top to bottom is the best in the business. But just about every manufacturer out has some good products these days. I recommend going to a shop and shooting several different brands and different models to see what fits you best.

I've shot them all and the Mathews felt the best in my hands. I liked the grip and I shoot the best with it. started shooting the MQ1 back in late 90's, then I bought the Outback and I will never buy another until it wears completely out. I couldn't shoot any better with a brand new one.
