Has anyone used Federal Premier or Premium (not sure of name)3 inch turkey loads? If so how has it performed?

Premium.
They are pretty good loads but unless you get old stock they use the flight controlled wad, which means you need to use a none wad striping choke like a factory one, old school Undertaker or one specifically designed for it.
I use to shoot them from my 870 when i had it using a $20 undertaker choke with very good results, actually liked it the best from the lead group. Havent shot it in a few years though so not sure if anything has changed in their loads.

like ren said I haven't shot them in a while but I had good results from them I had to change chokes a lot though to find one with the results I wanted. but I haven't shot them in probably 3 years though.

The lead gave me great patterns in my 12 ga.
The federal heavyweight #7's puts about 55% of the shot in a 10 in circle at 40 yards in my 10 ga. and nothing is walking away from those shells. The #7 shot will blow through 1/2 in plywood at 40 yds.

Thanks for the answers. I do use a 870 turkey gun, with a 24 in barrel and Remington factory turkey choke so it sounds like I will be okay. Found some on the shelf at a local sporting goods for $14.97 per box. Guess I will give them a try. Not much $ for a test fire.
