First off, is white clover good at holding soil and preventing erosion? Also is imperial clover worth the extra price over white clover you can get at Co-Op?

I've never planted it on too much of a slope so don't have first-hand knowledge, but expect it might possibly help a little bit with erosion once it was well established.
Also, if you scroll down just a little there's another thread on clover that might be helpful to you.

Once established it can hold soil well, I have some on a pretty steep slope but do not know the % slope. I like to mix my own at the Co-Op or Farm Supply. I have alittle bit of alot of varities but a typical mix for me would be something like Durana, Resolute, Patriot, and always Cinnamon Red.

I have several patches of CO-OP clover and several of Imperial Whitetail. The Imperial is definitely eaten much more by deer. I have some patches of CO-OP clover that I have never seen a deer eat.

I have planted both and haven't been able to tell adifference in the feeding advantage of one over then other. Both do very well on deer.
