Anyone ever backpack in LBL and chase the tree rats? I have hiked a lot of the southern portion of LBL but never hunted the birds. Thinking about carrying a gun (semi auto as a matter if fact) this spring during one of my hiking trips. I have always seen/heard them.

Used to hunt up there once a year. Plenty of birds but they are difficult to kill. If you call too much or too agressively, they'll keep gobbling as they go the other way.
