Dont put it on rods you plan to use a floater on, it sinks and really mess's with hook sets when used with float. Personally, I will never buy it again for any rod, the crap breaks for no reason sometimes. Pline all the way here.

Spooled my baitcaster and a spinning reel up with floro last spring. Went fishing one time and unspooled the reels when I got home. Too much memory for me. Went back to Berkely XL 6 lb in low vis green on my spinning rods. I've got 20 lb+ fish on it with out issue.

I use Berkly XL on my ultras and spinning gear and spiderwire on my baitcasters.

I had a similar problem with the lighter test Flouro breaking randomly when I first started using it, the culprit in my case was the wrong knot. If you are using a Palomar, the lighter test Flouro will tend to cut itself at the knot under stress. I broke off a pile of jigs and worms on snags and fish before I learned this. The regular Improved Clinch works A LOT better for me on the lighter Flouro, say 10lb or less. One caveat, be sure to always tie it carefully and wet it well before cinching it down. This made my breakoff issues disapear with Flouro, hope it helps others.
I think I got that tip from Stacey King at one of the BPS seminars a few years ago and it turned me around 180 on the subject of Flouro.

Another reason you get break offs is because your drag is too tight. Mono stretches, flouro doesn't. I set my drag to where it barely clicks on a hook set. It took me a while to figure out that problem, as well as the palimar knot issue, the clinch knot works much better with flouro.

I also use the improved clinch knot on fluorocarbon... Unless it's on a drop shot then it's the Palomar knot with a lose drag like above. Just wet the line.
I Do like throwing 8lb PLine fluoro on a grub rod. Just make sure you keep a eye on your knot. With it bumping the rocks it tears the line up quick.
I could count on one hand and have fingers left over how many fish I have broke off in my life and I fish a lot. I'm almost anal about my line... I check it and retie if I find anything or think there could be anything wrong.

I have used 4, 6, 8 and 10 lb test P Line fluoroclear line on various rods fishing for trout in the White RIver. The 4 lb on ultra light does seem to have some memory to it but I have caught a lot of nice trout on that rig. The fluoroclear is much less expensive than true flyorocarbon but the finicky trout don't seem to notice.

I like InvisX in heavier tests like 14 and above. Below that I really like Pline Halo.
