Cat, I've used and made several wingbones over the last few years (kindof a new hobby) and I've called in a few turkeys with them, but my absolute favorite bone call is the first one I got. I didn't know anything about them and a guy on another forum sent me one that he had made. I wrapped the joints and decorated it and annoyed everyone with it for months. That spring I called in a turkey with it and made 2 wingbones from that turkey. No matter how many I make, I haven't made one that sounds as good as the first one that I was given. I'm almost certain that it's because the first one is made from hen bones and all mine are made from gobbler bones. The daintier bones make a sweeter sound. My only problem is that I haven't killed a hen. My primary hunting ground just recently gained a fall season and I haven't taken advantage of it yet.

I know exactly what you're talking about wanting to call one in with a call made from a bird you kill, but in the meantime I'll offer you a trade. I've got a bag full of cleaned bones that I haven't pieced together and I'd be happy to send you some so you can make a wingbone or two. In exchange, I would love it if you could send me a few hen bones in the future. Maybe next fall if you kill a couple. (If you want them, I'll send you the bones regardless--but I'd love to get my hands on some hen bones).

Any call you make with the bones I send you won't be as cool as one you killed your self, but it may be a decent substitute until the spring. Then you can replace it when you kill a bird. If you're interested just shoot me a PM. It's no trouble either way for me.
