I got skunked in 2008 but...
I did not own a bow or a muzzleloader.
In 2009 I killed 2 deer with a bow and one with a muzzleloader.

I let a ton of deer walk this year. Only shot at one with a bow and missed judged distance (clean miss) I had a good 8 pointer I let pass twice if he had showed up one more time he would have been on my wall. But just enjoying the outdoors made my year and my buddy getting his first wall hanger after 14yrs of hunting made it worth it...

Just got back from our annual Illinois doe hunt. I killed 2 more. This years total now is 16. 14 with a bow, 2 with a muzzleloader. I helped lots of people fill their freezers.
It was a good year even though I got injured and had to drop my back-up bow down to 47 pounds.
It amazed me how well my 300 grain arrows did on those big slick heads with a 47 pound bow.

Magnus Stinger 4 blade 100 grain.
It is the only one I can afford.
I am, however, designing one of my own.

I didn't kill one this year or last year or the year before. But thats alright I dont mind. I didnt get to go much. Opening weekend of MZ and opening weekend of gun was the only time I got in the woods. I've killed alot of deer over the years so I get as much enjoyment watching them as I do shooting them at this point in my life. I enjoy all you guys and girls posting pics of your deer. And telling the stories of how you killed your deer. I just hope that I can kill a wall hanger one day but I'll be the first one to admit that I will have to get in the woods a whole lot more than I have in the last few years if I want to be successful.
