Another 870 vote.
I use mine for turkey and doves.
As mentioned 3" is all you need, plus the pull isn't as long as a 3 1/2" to extract a shell, which will come into play when you you are being assaulted by 8 or 10 doves at a time and you are needing to shuck shells as fast as you can  !

Mossberg 875 is a great gun also as some say 3" is ok for anything but some times 3.5 is better. I remember before 3.5 and there was a lot of discussion on 2.75 being ok but 3 inch was better. But then they came out with 10 gauge and people started saying 2.75 was not good enough for geese. I cant say about turkey as never hunted wild turkey but I know for dove to geese flying real high the mossberg will shoot it.

Mossberg 835 is a great gun as well. Haven't used it on waterfowl yet, but that is gonna change sometime in the next month. If I don't get to go duck hunting again in the next couple weeks, I do have a snow goose hunt scheduled in Feb. in Arkansas.

Another vote for an 870. I would recommend you get one with a 26 inch barrel since you may use it for duck hunting. No one likes to stand near a guy with a short barreled gun in the blind or pit.
