My Tikka T3 308 is now in the gun safe. I put maybe 40 rounds through it since buying it this season.
Should I do a thorough cleaning before storing it?

I went ahead and cleaned it.
Used my Tipton bore guide and Dewey coated rod.
Hoppes and MPro7 Copper removal
Didn't have hardly any copper build up but did have powder fouling.
Used my bronze brush to get most of it but didnt feel like spending all day getting every bit of fouling out
Hoppes Gun Oil on the last patch

Gunslick Foam is your ticket. Follow instructions and wear goggles, the foam is hot. Remove the barrel from the stock, the foam might ruin it. Give you a chance to clean out the weeds and other junk that finds its way into your rifle.
