My Grandmother always used hog jowl and that's what I prefer. fry it for a few minutes then add to peas and greens to cook. I'd much rather eat fatty chunks of hog jowl than a knarly old ham bone any day...LoL

Que up the 2001 Space Odessey theme. This was an Amazing meal, right here. The peas were Cooked in salt cured bacon and seasoned with Spanish smoked paprika and fresh herbs. The greens were Cooked in Venison stock and hit with some homemade tobasco pepper vinegar. We were out of cornmeal, so the squaw cooked up some homemade Parmesan & Cheddar biscuits. Incredible!
any way you could share how she fixed them Parmesan cheddar biscuits? I almost ate my phone when I saw those things!! Lol
2 Cups Bisquick (you heard me) 2/3 cup plus 1 1/2 tablespoon half and half (or just cream) 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded 1/8 cup grated parmesan cheese 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder or shallot powder 2 tablespoons butter (melted) 1 garlic clove minced
Heat oven to 450 Mix together Bisquick, garlic powder, half and half and cheeses. Drop dough by 10 spoonfuls on a cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes until tops are golden brown. Mix melted butter with minced garlic and Brush finished biscuits with the mixture. Serve immediately.
