Man and I went to our neighborhood pond we fish alot and caught a few bass.
Nothing huge but we had fun.
It went from "kinda" raining to "soak your underwear wet" in a matter of 3.2 seconds.
By the time we got in the truck, another 3.2 seconds later, we were totally soaked.
Swung by the house and put on some dry clothes and headed out to the country club.
After we got there I caught a bass within 3 minutes of my first cast.
We fished about an hour after that and not so much as a nibble.
If one will bite, why not more?
I will never understand that.

I hate it web you get to the water, catch a fish right away, and think "yeah, this is gonna be a good day of fishing" and then not another bite after that. Still beats a good day at work

I hate it web you get to the water, catch a fish right away, and think "yeah, this is gonna be a good day of fishing" and then not another bite after that. Still beats a good day at work
i had a friend(now deceased) that fished with us some. one year during the late winter white bass(stripe) run for several days in a row, he would catch a fish on the first cast and not get another bite the rest of the day. after 4 or 5 dayss of that, he showed up the next morning and caught another fish on his first cast. he released the fish, packed his stuff and left without another cast.

Kind of the same sometimes while hnting,see a deer at first light,then nothing else,who knows

I had a friend as well (now deceased) swear the same. Every time we went fishing we'd cast that first cast just hoping not to catch one! LOL
