Last year was a banner year for me! I got a 1.5% raise, after having no raises the previous 4 years. After doing a little calculation earlier in the week, the new social security rate will equate to a 2% decrease in my pay. So, starting this month, I will be making 0.5% less than I was 5 years ago!
Of course, this is the same employer that told me hard work and merit were no basis for determining pay.
I am just loving this hope and change!

I am just loving this hope and change! Not defending it, but it is not a new Social Security rate it is a return to the same rate it was 2 years ago. Had the rate not been lessened by the 2% your pay would be the same as it was two years ago all things being equal.

I got a 25 dollar raise jan 1 and now I am bringing home a whole 4 dollars more a week guess I could have taken a cut so I'm thankful for that. My boss said so much for noticing raise but it's not his fault

You guys think this is bad??
Just wait until you hit 65 when the SS kicks in. You will be getting LESS since you put in LESS the last two years.
Did you really beleive Obama 2 years ago when he told us it would not effect our SS checks later?? Sorry but I'm a guy that beleives that 2+2=4. The math doesn't lie, you put less in then you take less out.
Talk about suckers.
