Nothing much to say here.....I decided on the rib tips. From now on, if I'm in a restaurant that offers rib tips, that's what I'm ordering. This plate was mostly meat, a couple hunks of bone, and a few pieces of gristle. Cozy Corner has some of the best flavors in the BBQ business, and it's really different from the "traditional" Memphis-style stuff out there. This plate is piled high with meat. I ate until I couldn't stuff anymore, and brought back plenty of leftovers for the TAFKAP family to munch on. And if you're man enough, ask for the "SUPER HOT" sauce they keep in back.

And about the friendliest bunch of folks working any restaurant, too.

Great place to eat. Have you tried the cornish hen?

That does look good. I have had(well bought) Memphis BBQ 4 times since I moved here 3 years ago(Commissary, Fat Larys, Neeleys, and Corkys). Commissary was best but no outstanding. Corkys was just bad. I have kind of given up on Memphis BBQ and cooked my own the last several thimes I wanted it.

However, I do have the craving today and after working all night, I think I will try Central BBQ for lunch today.

Am I missing something when it comes to Memphis BBQ? Any recommendations?

You bet. I graduated up to the whole chicken after leaving there numerous times still hungry. Chicken's cheaper and you get more food.

But after that plate of rib tips, no more poultry for me at the Cozy Corner.

Yeah, you're eating at places you've seen on TV! \:D

If that's all I've eaten from Memphis BBQ, then I'd give up too. Central is my favorite "classic" Memphis BBQ place. I love their turnip greens, homemade chips, beans....it's all good.

Whenever I take clients to Central, I always get a whole rack, half & half, and suggest everyone order a pork plate with sides of their choosing.

I am at the point where I make my own BBQ and I seldom eat it out...If I make pulled pork I'll do 4 10 pound Boston Butts chop it and freeze it the same day in differant size bags depending on how many are here to eat and it is just as good as the day it was made...Ribs and chicken I only do on demand.
